Ashley's Blog - Part 4: Two for One

So last week, I missed writing the blog for my journey with TriCity Centre for Circus arts, and this is because I couldn’t attend my class on Wednesday ☹

As important as training, keeping active and taking time for yourself can be, sometimes other things must take priority.  Last week, for me it was being a mom.  My daughter needed me, and I needed to be with her. It’s that simple. No guilt, no stress, just simply shifting priorities.  Although I am sad that I couldn’t go to my class, I know that things in life come up.  So, this week I am raring to go, I have my circus arts hat on, and I am ready to gain some more strength, more laughs, and more bruises.

So, this week was full of laughter and bruises, but I felt like a million bucks after class.  I was able to catch up on the things I missed from the week before, got to do some Jazzercise 80’s style warmups at the beginning of class and actually got off the ground! My daughter also came with me and was the resident photographer for the night, which was really nice because she made me feel like if I tried hard enough, I could do anything!  Although getting into the air is still really hard, I was able to climb up 5 mechanics on the basic climb as well as get myself into a Peter Pan with only minimal squirming and squishing as I did so.

I have class with an amazingly supportive bunch of ladies and it is so nice to be able to work hard and act silly and just live the real version of me.  TriCity Circus has really helped me remember who I am and that I can really do anything I set my mind to.

Until next week, keep smiling and soaring high!
