More Beginnings

Speaking of new beginnings (see Monday’s post for that news!), it has become my pregnancy project to pour my heart into this studio and truly make it a home before we finally re-open later in the summer. Sorry circus community, I’m afraid you’re on the receiving end of the full force of my nesting instincts!

If all goes well and I can wrap my head around the many little projects that this task includes, when you come back you will enter into a space that you can be proud to call your circus home. I can’t share all the details - we’re saving that for the big reveal sometime in July ;) - but I can say that you will feel the love when you finally do see it!

I am learning so much through this project, about myself, about relationships and community, about flooring, staining, painting, sewing…you name it. There are moments of frustration for sure, as I turn to the next task and realize I don’t know anything about it and must first spend half a day researching the myriad of options, only to find they’re out of stock, or require some other thing to do that thing. Oh how I’ve craved wine some nights! Yet this is possibly the most important, heartfelt project I have set out to complete. There is no greater feeling than building something, watching it come together through the efforts of many people who are jumping in to help (more on them later!).

I’m off now to pick a paint colour that’s as close as possible to the colour I need (the one thing I thought would be simple, but apparently they can’t make paint that bright). Wish me luck!
